Analyze Advertisements For the following 4 slides, I will explain how the advertisement catches your eye by using marketing and your personal values.
Canon  The caption under is telling us that our eyes can reveal the early stages of diseases. With this Canon camera, eye doctors can capture blood vessels clearly. This relates to our personal value, Security and health. We want to be free from diseases.  This appeals to the basic human need, love. When we’re healthy, we can enjoy our lives with our family and friends without having to leave anyone because of a disease.  Marketing Technique: Values Association Images of eyes are catching our view because the caption is about saving our health by clear photos of eyes taken by Canon camera.
HP  Mistake- free work relates to our personal value, excellence.  This appeals to the basic human need, power. When excellence is achieved, you can feel power. It can also be love because when you have mistake-free work, you might feel that you are part of the group of people who are perfect.  The boy in the ad is smiling because his homework is perfect. It is representing that perfection of work creates happiness.  Marketing Technique: Values Association
Entenmann’s Marketing Technique: Branding Applies to the value image because the guy who is riding the skateboard is representing ‘cool people’.  Human needs: Love and Power because if you become cool you feel like you have power. It is also love because it makes you feel like you’re part of the ‘cool’ group.  The boy in this ad represents ‘coolness' by riding a skateboard.
Lipton Marketing Technique: Values Association Applies to the value comfort; the caption talks about giving your lips a spa treatment.  Human needs: fun; spa creates pleasure and relaxation  The woman is the ad is laughing/smiling because of the comfort she is having from the spa. She has a bathrobe on which proves that she’s at a spa.
